Incepand cu anul 1811, John Cumming distila illegal whisky pe cursul raului Spey, impreuna cu sotia sa Helen. Se presupune ca sotia sa a distilat primul galon de Cardhu, singurul whisky din malt creat de o femeie. Abia in anul 1824 John a reusit sa obtina o licenta pentru distilare, whisky-urile Cardhu devenind in scurt timp faimoase in toata Scotia. Atat de faimoase incat prima distilerie cumparata de catre compania Johnnie Walker & Sons in anul 1893 a fost tocmai cea a familiei Cumming. In acel moment distileria era condusa de Elisabeth Cummings, nora lui Helen, cele doua contribuind la cresterea renumelui distilatorilor de sex feminin, foarte putini de altfel in Scotia.<\/p>\n

Cardhu 12 YO<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Cardhu este un single malt autentic si tipic din Speyside. Invechit timp de 12 ani in butoaie de stejar special selectate, whisky-ul are un stil placut, catifelat si elegant, care provoaca placere tuturor celor care vor sa evadeze din cotidian.
\nAre un parfum puternic, intrigant si ispititor, cu aluzii de iarba neagra, rasina si miere. In spate se pot recunoaste urme de lemn si fum. Culoarea sa este aurie, asemanatoarea cu mierea, iar textura placuta. Are un gust bine echilibrat, placut,\u00a0dulce si proaspat la inceput, apoi din ce in ce mai sec. Gustul de final este atractiv, uscat, cu note de fum dulce.<\/p>\n

Cardhu Gold Reserve<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Sortimentul Gold Reserve a fost maturat in butoaie de stejar rumenit, de unde si accentele de mar caramelizat. Perioada de maturare nu este mentionata, insa aroma putin mai fructata si mai intensa diferentiaza usor acest whisky de varianta standard de 12 ani.<\/p>\n
